This video is about an Alaskan wilderness bowhunt for moose. We were back at Mystic Lake again in 1998, 200 miles out of Fairbanks. We spent 16 days chasing giant bull moose in the same spot where we scored on trophy bulls in 1992 and 1994. My buddy Mike Carroll and I were fortunate enough to witness and videotape 4 different bulls battling for supremacy. One evening we watched three bulls battle and later we managed to call the largest bull into bow range. I watched through the lens of my camcorder as Mike sent an arrow from his home made longbow through the lungs of the trophy class bull. This bull was larger than either one of our previous bulls.
As usual with our hunts our good luck was offset by an equal share of bad luck. Mike's tremendous trophy rack was stolen right off the riverbank by some passing moose hunters as we waited to be picked up by the floatplane.
