This video is about an Alaskan wilderness bowhunt for moose. We flew 200 miles out of Fairbanks and spent 16 days chasing giant bull moose in the same spot where we almost froze to death in 1992. I watched through the lens of my camcorder as a monster bull stepped in front of Mike. As the bull passed by at eleven yards, he drew back his recurve and sent an arrow through the bull's heart. However, instead of running, the bull whirled around and lowered his rack to face us. For a few terrifying seconds, I thought we might be bulldozed into oblivion. Fortunately, he couldn't see us, as we stood like statues in our makeshift blind. He soon turned around and ran about 60 yards before collapsing.
We were thrilled just to see a moose, because two weeks before our hunt, this area had been under 12 feet of water. A huge flood had raged down the river wiping out Indian villages upstream and down stream of our location.
